Sydney Comedy Festival 2026 Launches 400+ Shows Starting April 13

Australia's largest comedy festival opens in three days. The Sydney Comedy Festival 2026 runs April 13 through May 17, with more than 400 shows spread across venues from the Sydney Opera House to tiny pubs in Newtown. The headline event is the Sydney Comedy Festival Gala at the Opera House on April 20 at 8 p.m., pulling international comics, Australian legends, and emerging voices into one concentrated evening of stand-up.

Free programming includes the Gala on the Green at Tumbalong Park (Darling Harbour) on April 18 and the family-friendly Great Laugh in the Park on April 19 at the same venue. The festival also runs across the ABC iview broadcast and Paramount+ streaming simulcasts for the headline galas.
