Bondi to Coogee: The Mandatory Walk

Six kilometers of clifftop path along the eastern coastline. Every Sydney resident considers it mandatory. Start at Bondi Beach's south end, climb to Mackenzies Point, follow the sandstone edge through Tamarama, Bronte, Clovelly to Coogee.

The ocean crashes below, throws spray at Mackenzies, calms to turquoise at Bronte Baths (free ocean pool carved into the rocks), opens to full Pacific at Coogee. Seven AM for golden sandstone light and silver water. 90 minutes moderate pace. Swim at Bronte or Coogee at the end — the ocean pools are free and perfect. Any season.
